Major Features of the Reduced Impact Alternative

In comparison to the Bustleton Avenue Alternative Modified:
  • Byberry Road between Bustleton Avenue and Philmont Avenue is not widened;
  • Byberry Road between Philmont Avenue and Pine Road is three lanes not four lanes;
  • Huntingdon Pike remains two lanes not four lanes;
  • County Line Road remains two lanes between South Buck Road and Huntingdon Pike not four lanes; and
  • Northeast Boulevard is not extended.

A number of intersections were redesigned to provide a Context Sensitive Solution and to minimize property impacts:

  • Byberry Road and Pine Road;
  • Byberry Road and South Buck Road;
  • Byberry Road and Huntingdon Pike;
  • County Line Road and Huntingdon Pike;
  • County Line Road and South Buck Road;
  • County Line Road and North Buck Road; and
  • County Line Road and Pine Road Four Lanes Four Lanes.

Property impact reductions include the elimination of:

  • 57 potential partial property acquisitions along Huntingdon Pike;
  • 27 potential partial property acquisitions along County Line Road;
  • Three potential partial property acquisitions on Byberry Road in the southeast quadrant of the intersection with Huntingdon Pike;
  • Three potential partial property acquisitions in the northwest quadrant of South Buck and Byberry Roads;
  • Four potential partial property acquisitions along Pine Road at the Byberry Road intersection;
  • One potential residential acquisition; and

A reduction in the total width required along Byberry Road between Pine Road and Philmont Avenue from approximately 25 feet to 15 feet.
